VDVR of The Month-Mrs. Willie Belle Boone

VDVR of The Month
This month we had the privilege to present our VDVR of the Month to Mrs. Willie Belle Boone. She is fondly known as "Mama Boone" and has been an active VDVR for over 10 years. She has worked tirelessly to help all eligible generations to know the importance of voter registration and civic engagement in her community. Mrs. Boone expanded her passion for civic engagement by becoming a Precinct Judge for more than thirty years.

Mrs. Boone advice to all VDVRs is to be patient when registering eligible residents by taking time to explain the process and make sure all applications are filled out properly and legibly. She stated, "The importance of voter registration is being able to know you have a choice and you are exercising that choice." Even when some may say one vote doesn’t make a difference she emphasizes on that point stating, "it surely will not count if you don’t register and vote."

The Harris County Voter Registration Department wants to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Willie Belle Boone for her amazing commitment to voter registration in Harris County. Congratulations Mrs. Boone for receiving this award and we wish you the very best!
